Summer love. Sweet and cold treats.
Humidity and hot rain. I love the summer.
This piece is a mix of nostalgia and angst as the summer slips away yet another year.

This piece was really fun to create. Since I was child, I always loved to paint houses. And today, even as an abstract artist, I still enjoy doing architectural renderings from time to time. So, the majestic domes of classic Islamic architecture is no exception. I decided to paint the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque but in a colorful, abstract style, true to my own vision as an artist.
I used high-quality acrylic inks which dried much faster than watercolors and allowed me to apply multiple layers in a short amount of time.
Since I’m a rather impatient painter, this is one technique that I love! I used the straw method, which involves blowing the inks at the bottom to push it into this cool, splattered effect, and achieved the energetic look I was going for.
To my delight, the original sold within minutes of me posting it online. But, I am happy to now offer fine art prints of this painting in my online shop, and in my Etsy store. I think it would make a great gift for Eid!
I haven’t been painting as much as I would have liked because Ramadan has rightfully slowed me down. I painted these pieces over the course of a few weeks prior and finally had the energy to photograph and list them in my Etsy shop.
I’d like to attribute this burst of energy to our recent change of diet and adoption of the Paleo lifestyle. By cutting out grains and wheat, and lots of processed sugar, I have to say, I feel a lot lighter on my feet, clear-headed, and more energetic. Will be posting some of my favorite recipes soon!
And Eid is just a few days away! Can’t wait for my presents ❤
So, I was recently featured on The Pink Pagoda blog and you should check it out. Pretty awesome!

Thank you Jennifer for the great post. Please check out more design and art over at The Pink Pagoda.
Everything about this room speaks to me. So warm and cheery, and I love the exposed brick wall. The painting is perfect, and somehow the rug doesn’t clash with it. If anyone knows the designer for this room, please comment!
